Dozens of holidaymakers raced to bag sun beds after waiting an hour to grab their favourite spots by the pool at a Spanish hotel.

More than 40 people joined the stampede at a hotel in Salou,just south of Tarragona on Spain’s Costa Daurada.

Chris,from Glasgow,Scotland,watched the rush as the poolside opened at 9am during his week-long stay at the hotel this month.

‘It was a manic race and scramble for the sunbeds surrounding the pool at the hotel’,he said.

The Glaswegian added: ‘I don’t judge but found it funny so had to film it.

He said people had queued up at the doors to get their towels on a sunbed every day of his holiday,only to then dash back inside for breakfast before returning for a swim.
