The Society of Actuaries Announces Opening of Singapore Office

SINGAPORE and CHICAGO,March 13,2025 -- The Society of Actuaries (SOA),the world's largest actuarial professional organization,announces the opening of a new regional office in Singapore. Actuaries are professional experts in measuring and analyzing risk,and work in a variety of fields,including insurance,healthcare,consulting,financial services,government and education.

Headquartered in Chicago,Illinois,the SOA empowers its members to drive solutions to life's financial risks. A key strategic priority of the SOA is to grow globally and better meet the needs of its members and actuarial candidates.

"As opportunities and challenges around the world evolve,the actuarial profession is needed more than ever," stated SOA President and Chair Amanda Hug,FSA,MAAA,MBA. "In response,the SOA seeks to accelerate the profession's global growth and provide services to meet the needs of the market."

"We are thrilled to open this office to support actuaries and provide more resources in the region," said Greg Heidrich,SOA CEO. "Building on our established presence in Hong Kong,Beijing and Dubai,the opening of our SOA office in Singapore marks a pivotal step in strengthening our commitment to supporting actuaries and candidates across Asia."

The SOA regional office is located at Ocean Financial Centre,within Singapore's Central Business District. Jessie Li,will serve as SOA's Regional Director in East and Southeast Asia,and will head the new Singapore office.

Li said,"With this Singapore office,we are excited to host face-to-face networking events and connect with universities and employers in the region to encourage and inspire students to pursue a rewarding actuarial career. We look forward to strengthening our relationships and supporting the growth and development of the regional actuarial community for years to come."

As a global organization,the SOA engages and supports members and candidates in more than 100 countries,hosting numerous industry events outside of North America. Through its Affiliate Membership program,the SOA encourages students worldwide to consider pursuing an actuarial career and offers free resources to students,parents,educators,and others interested in the profession.
