The International Podcast Creators Alliance was officially launched on October 9, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand, during the Second Gen Z International Podcast Festival, marking a new step in global podcast collaboration. The event, themed “Podcast: An Extension of Reading,” was held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Hosted by the Academy of International and Regional Communication Studies at Communication University of China, supported by the Thai Booksellers and Publishers Association, and organized by Guansheng (Xiamen) Culture Technology Co., Ltd., the festival brought together podcast creators, scholars, and industry leaders from Thailand, Indonesia, the United States and China.
In her opening remarks, Duangporn Sudhisomboon, Vice President for International Affairs at the Thai Booksellers and Publishers Association, described podcasts as “a new form of exploration, much like reading opens new worlds of understanding.”
Professor Zhou Ting, Executive Dean of the Academy of International and Regional Communication Studies, emphasized the growing role of podcasts in fostering global dialogue and cultural exchange. “We’re committed to building a sustainable environment for creators worldwide,” she said.
A short video presentation recapped highlights from the first Gen Z International Podcast Festival. Du Yuanzhi, CEO of Vocal Supreme, noted: “Podcasts demonstrate powerful cultural influence and strong commercial potential. We’re excited to see more creators join this evolving ecosystem.”
The event featured keynote discussions with international podcasters. Indonesian creator Rizky Ardi Nugroho explored the mutually reinforcing relationship between podcasts and reading. Yang Yuehua, producer of the Chinese podcast“Left and Right”, shared insights on creative strategies and monetization. Thai podcaster Dr. Makkaporn Kattiyathongkum discussed the narrative power of podcasts from a documentary perspective.
The newly formed International Podcast Creators Alliance seeks to connect creators worldwide and expand the global influence of podcasting. Its founding members include Chinese podcast brands ShengDong HuoPo and JinJin LeDao, alongside global shows such as Culture Limited, Left and Right, Do You See What I See, and Tang Makkaporn.

The Second Gen Z International Podcast Festival will be held from November 2025 to May 2026, focusing on the theme "Development, Civilization, Governance." This year's festival introduces a new video podcast category in partnership with Bilibili, while the audio category remains open to global podcast creators. This initiative is designed to broaden opportunities for cross-platform storytelling and innovation.
