On September 26, the 9th Tour for Dating of Miao Ethnic Event was launched at Xijiang Thousand-Household Miao Village Scenic Spot. This year, 12 guests from all over the country spent the three days of romantic tour at Xijiang Miao Village.


During the event, guests experienced diverse activities like watching Grand Ceremony of Xijiang Miao Ethnic performance, learning Miao Embroidery, doing handmade glutinous rice cake, and parading in splendid attire, etc. Meanwhile, they experienced the Miao Ethnic Group’s time-honored and unadulterated dating and marriage culture, and feel the sheer and beautiful Miao Love.


Tour for Dating, also knows as Youfang, is Xijiang’s annual grand event, and also one of the most remarkable national culture tourism brands of Xijiang. Youfang is a word from Miao Ethnic Group, and was previously called “Yao Malang”, meaning love and dating. Usually, the people of the Miao Ethnic Group encourage single youths of appropriate age to seek their lovers in the off-season from farming, and the youths of Miao Ethnic Group, by means of singing in antiphonal style and playing games, exchange ideas, and choose the objects of their affections.

In recent years, Xijiang keeps on upholding the development notions “Promoting tourism by culture”, “Spreading culture by tourism” and “Integrating the culture with tourism” to combine Xijiang’s rich and colorful ethnic culture with tourism resources, with a view to improving Xijiang’s reputation and awareness at home and abroad.
